After James Dobson resigned as the Chairman of the Board of Focus on the Family, he gave a farewell speech to the Focus on the Family Staff, Dr. Dobson said, "We tried to defend the unborn child, the dignity of the family, but it was a holding action, We are awash in evil and the battle is still to be waged. We are right now in the most discouraging period of that long conflict. Humanly speaking, we can say we have lost all those battles." But he added that “God is in control and we are not going to give up now, right?”
We must agree, that from the human perspective it would seem that the culture-of-death has taken over society. But not from God’s perspective.
Immediately and for the following few days, the left wing pro-abortion, pro-gay, pro-pornographic blogs have spewed out their hatred for Dobson and some have even thrown in a few other well-known Christians leaders.
And what is their problem? It is really not with Dobson and other Christian leaders per se. It is with Christ and what the Bible says. They are angry that Christian leaders are only fulfilling their mission as given by the Holy Scriptures. It is God, not Christian leaders who tell us that abortion and gay activities are not only wrong but are actually sin. Oh, how the so-called liberals hate that word! Dobson and Christian leaders do not hate Gays and those involved in abortions, but only their actions. But, they refuse to believe that and rail back in hate.
And why? John 15:19-20, “If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.” The Bible turns the light on evil and evil hates that and will rail against the light whenever they see it.
So what do they do? They call Dobson and other Christian leaders “self-righteous, judgmental, hateful, and radical.” But, they can’t tell us why they are what they label them without mentioning specifics such as, pointing out the wrongs of abortion, gay lifestyles, pornography, evolution, etc. And that is why they hate Christians.
Christians did not create a new 1,400,000 cases of STDs every year. Christians are not behind pornography that destroys individuals and families, shortened life spans of gay activity including aids, millions of pregnant teen girls, and the killing of 50 million pre-born babies since 1973.
So why do they hate Christians so much? For turning on the light. “For every one that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved” (John 3:20).
They want their way whether others like it or not, and they're willing to do whatever it takes to get it and they do not like anyone to get in their way. And to them Christians are the primary hindrance to their ungodly plans.
